In this 8-week class, you’ll be guided through the basic fundamental Catholic teachings on the Blessed Virgin Mary as well as briefly exploring authentic Marian devotion and spirituality.
More specifically, you’ll explore:
- Marian dogmas and doctrines
- Popular authentic Marian devotions
- Apologetic terminology and references to defend Catholic teaching on the Virgin Mary
Class components include:
- Class lectures (one per week with a total of 8 weeks)
- Weekly reading assignments
- Discussion questions for a weekly blog/online discussion
- Live Skype video conference session for a Q&A with the instructor

About the Instructor: Joshua Marzin is the Director of Evangelization for the Diocese of Venice in Florida. As Director, he oversees the Office of Evangelization which includes the Office of Youth & Young Adult Outreach and the Office of Marriage & Family Life. Other connected areas of ministry are Prison Ministry, Campus Ministry, and Catholic Scouting.
With a passionate devotion to the Virgin Mary and the Holy Spirit, Joshua desires that all would know the radical love of God in a deeply transformative way that they might be filled with the Holy Spirit to grow in union with God.
He holds bachelors and masters degrees in Theology from the Franciscan University of Steubenville and has completed doctoral level coursework in Systematic Theology at Ave Maria University.
